The short version
- MoveFirst has no accounts. There is nothing to sign up for, and we hold no profile about you.
- Camera frames are analysed on your iPhone and discarded immediately. No video is recorded, stored or transmitted.
- Your blocked-app selection, your exchange rates, your earned minutes and your history stay on your device.
- We receive anonymous product statistics and crash reports, and Apple tells our payments provider whether a subscription is active. That is the complete list of what leaves your phone.
Who we are
MoveFirst is made by Netkreatives, based in Belgium. If you have a question about anything on this page, write to us at the address in the Contact section below.
The camera
Ten of the ways to earn time use the front camera to count repetitions. Frames are delivered to the app by iOS, analysed on the device with Apple's Vision framework to read body position, and released as soon as the next frame arrives. No frame is written to storage, kept in memory beyond the moment it is read, or sent off the device. There is no recording feature, and the app has no code path that uploads an image. Camera access is requested only when you start a camera-counted move, and you can refuse or revoke it in iOS Settings — the walk, daily steps and focus routes continue to work without it.
Which apps you block
App selection uses Apple's Family Controls framework. When you choose apps, iOS hands MoveFirst an opaque token that stands for the selection; the identities behind it are never revealed to the app. MoveFirst can shield those apps and lift the shield, but it cannot read which apps they are, and neither can we.
Health and motion data
If you switch on the Apple Health step route, MoveFirst reads your daily step count from HealthKit for the purpose of crediting minutes. Walk sessions use the iPhone's motion coprocessor to count steps while a walk is running. Both are read on the device, used to calculate minutes, and never written anywhere off the phone. MoveFirst writes nothing back to Health, and reads nothing from it beyond the step count. You can withdraw this permission at any time in the Health app.
What stays on your device
Your earned minutes, your spending history, your exchange rates, your chosen activities and your settings are stored locally on your iPhone. We operate no database of user records and have no way to retrieve any of it. Deleting the app removes all of it from the device.
What leaves your device
Three services receive limited information, and none of them receives anything that identifies you personally:
Analytics — TelemetryDeck
We use TelemetryDeck to understand how the app is used in aggregate: for example, how many people finish onboarding, or which ways of earning are chosen. TelemetryDeck is hosted in the European Union and is designed so that data cannot be traced back to an individual — identifiers are hashed on the device before they are sent, and no IP addresses are stored. We never send the names of apps you block, your camera data, or your health data.
Crash reports — Sentry
When something crashes, a technical report is sent to Sentry so we can fix it. It contains the state of the software at the moment of failure — the type of device, the iOS version and a stack trace — not your content. Parts of MoveFirst run outside the main app as system extensions and are invisible to us without this.
Purchases — Apple and RevenueCat
Payment is handled entirely by Apple. We never see your card details, your name or your billing address. RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier and the status of your subscription so the app knows whether it is active, and so you can restore a purchase on a new device with your Apple ID.
Children
MoveFirst is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, export or erase personal data held about you, and to complain to a supervisory authority. In practice we hold no personal data to act on: there is no account, and the anonymous statistics and crash reports we do receive cannot be linked back to you or to your device. If you would like the anonymous data associated with a device excluded anyway, write to us and we will tell you exactly what is possible.
Deleting your data
Because there is no account, there is no account to delete. Deleting MoveFirst from your iPhone erases everything the app stored: your minutes, your history, your rates and your settings. Your subscription is separate — cancel it in iPhone Settings under your Apple ID, and Apple's records of the transaction are governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect, we will update the date at the top and describe the change here.
