A practical setup

Define your usage of X by identifying whether you are checking for specific news or browsing automatically. If you use the app for professional updates, keep it accessible. For casual checking, apply a block that requires movement to unlock. After seven days, record whether this change has successfully reduced your automatic checking behavior.

How to measure the experiment

For 7 days, record 5 checks covering shield reliability, necessary access, planned visits, and automatic openings. Record whether the setup appeared at the right moment and whether its fallback was genuinely usable.

Before you switch it on

A blocking playbook is useful only when selection, recovery, and essential access have been tested.

• ✓Inventory work, care, banking, travel, and authentication needs.
• ✓Check app and browser routes that reach the same destination.
• ✓Choose a way in that fits the place and time: a camera-counted exercise, the step target, or a place you name.
• ✓Run one short shield-and-unshield test before relying on it.

When to adjust the rule

Fix the selection before raising the movement target; a broader lock is not automatically a better boundary. If the same exception keeps appearing, redesign the selection instead of negotiating with it each time.
